DAY OF THE GIRL: KATY J PEARSON

Sunday, 12th October 2025

English Teacher, girli, and Katy J Pearson are all set to perform intimate live shows in venues across the country in support of War Child – the specialist charity working to protect, educate and stand up for the rights of children living in war zones globally.

Closing out Day of the Girl in style, English indie pop musician, Katy J Pearson will perform on Sunday 12th October at London’s iconic The 100 Club. Fusing folk, pop, and country influences into heartfelt, widescreen soundscapes, Katy’s soaring vocals and rich storytelling has built her a reputation as one of the UK’s most distinctive and captivating artists.

Katy J Pearson said: “I will be playing a gig at The 100 Club on the 12th of October with two of my favourite artists supporting, Sarah Meth & Jimmy Means Smut. This gig will be raising money to provide vital support to women in war zones. Thank you to War Child for having me!”

The Day of the Girl concerts are more than just performances; they are a lifeline for girls and women living through war. Right now, 612 million women and girls worldwide are living in conflict zones. A staggering 50% increase on this same number just 10 years ago.

Gender inequality escalates to alarming levels in areas affected by crisis. Those assigned female at birth suffer 95% of all sexual violence and are 2.5 times more likely to be out of school. Without menstrual supplies and clean spaces, women and girls face serious health risks and suffer a loss of dignity.

Since 2021, Day of the Girl has raised over £250K for War Child, with some of the UK’s most exciting artists, including Griff, Lola Young, Olivia Dean and Bree Runway, lending their voices to support the charity’s work protecting, educating, and advocating for the rights of girls and women amidst the turmoil of war.

By taking part, fans and supporters will be supporting War Child’s work: Providing specialist mental health support; creating safe spaces to learn and play; promoting girls’ and women’s rights in communities; ensuring access to health care and legal support; providing job training and financial aid, and more to some of the most vulnerable women and girls around the world.

Katy J Pearson’s music is the sound of the summer we should always be having, rather the one we’re usually gifted. Effortlessly evocative of long evenings cooled by a welcome breeze, of soft sand between the toes and the sweetest sounds on the FM dial, foot down and accelerating to the West Coast (of Great Britain), her songs are immediately transportive, possessing an uncanny ability to lift the listener out of the everyday and into a sunshine state.

Last autumn saw the release of Katy’s third long player on Heavenly Recordings, Someday, Now.

Recorded in Wales with producer Nathan Jenkins (aka Bullion), Joel Burton and a pair of Heavenly labelmates Davey Newington (Boy Azooga) and Huw Evans (H Hawkline), the album is home to the BBC6 Music playlisted singles ‘Those Goodbyes’, ‘Sky’ and ‘Maybe’ and is her most confident, assured and honest album to date – glorious ultra-melodic pop music showcasing Katy’s natural knack for a hook.

Following the release of the album, Katy took to the road all across Europe as special guest of The Last Dinner Party before her own run of UK & EU headline shows earlier this year, including a sell-out night at London’s Koko. Most recently she has supported Wet Leg on their UK tour and is gearing up for her summer festival dates in UK and Europe. She might make our summer days just that much sunnier, if only in our heads!
