+ TURNER

THE ELECTRIC STARS are unlike any other band on ‘The Scene’ right now ! They have managed to perfect a trick, that all the great bands have up their collective sleeve. That is, the ability to soak up all the best music, from the best bands, from any era & spit it out as original tunes ! They confidently swagger like The Stones & hold an audience like Kasabian. The songs can be as whimsical as The Kinks or violent like The Sex Pistols. The Electric Stars are a Psychedelic Rock n Roll Speedball bursting with Glamtastic guitars, Hippy lyrics & drenched in Soul. The band formed in 2011, as a gang of like minded freaks, from the remnants of various Mancunian combo’s. The Mission: Original Rock n Roll that inspires !
They signed to Detour Records in February 2012, released a single in March & the debut album ‘Sonic Candy Soul’ in September ! They have played with the likes of The Charlatans, Kaiser Chiefs, Macy Gray & Jefferson Airplane. The album has been featured in countless magazines with glowing reviews, even making the Top 12 of 2012 in ‘Scootering Magazine’ alongside Paul Weller.
The future is Star shaped for these Manc Soul Brothers !

With Swirling Hammond Organ and Vocals delivered with real purpose, THE SHA LA LA’S are a London based Four piece Steeped in Mod and Soul Roots. Signed to Detour Records their 60s R&B influences are apparent but make no mistake, their sound is definitely their own and definitely NOW. Founded by Darron Robinson (Vocals, Guitar) and John “Pax” Piccirillo (Drums) and with the line up completed by John Lee (Hammond Organ, Wurlitzer Piano) and Vere Osborne (Bass)The Sha la la’s…… somewhere between Detroit and Canvey Island……..

This is TURNER…Born and bred in Tamesides Audenshaw Turner was introuduced to the world with music cursung through her veins & even as a young girl was spoonfed delicious melodys from the greats such as Dusty Springfield, Scott Walker, Blondie, The Beach Boys to name but a few! After moving up the road to Salford & a chance meeting with Guy Garvey at a recording studio Louise was asked to appear on the Mercury Prize-winning & platinum-selling album ‘The Seldom Seen Kid’ with Elbow from then on Turner made many Manchester Connections with even Peter Hook asking to jam sometime!
She already enjoys a successful career as an in-demand session singer…& with a string of collabarations and guest appearances on tunes featuring Primal Screams Denise Johnson, Manc Poet and songwriter Edward Barton, Bluebird Kid Clark &The Electric Stars.

Indeed, her crystelise vocals and powerful lungs have appeared on numerous records but despite her prowess as a much sought-after studio singer this Salford Chanteuse decided to step out on her own with her Debut Mini Album “This is Turner”.
