SOUL GROOVES WITH HORACE PANTER (The Specials)

Tonic Music for Mental Health presents

SOUL GROOVES with HORACE PANTER (The Specials)

+ DJ Eddie Piller

Horace Panter (The Specials) brings Soul Grooves to the legendary 100 Club.

Horace Panter, a.k.a. Sir Horace Gentleman, needs no introduction as founder member and bassist of The Specials. Their influence on British music has been immense, and their blend of ska and rocksteady, with punk’s energy and attitude, is the soundtrack of a generation.

The Specials continue to tour internationally and recently opened for the Rolling Stones in their hometown of Coventry. They are currently back in the studio recording a new album and will be celebrating their 40th anniversary next year.

Soul Grooves will allow us to see and hear Horace in a different light, playing tunes by the likes of The Meters, George Benson and Booker T., alongside a band of highly talented jazz and soul musicians including Nikolaj Torp Larsen on Hammond organ, Kenrick Rowe on drums, Jim Hunt on Tenor & Baritone sax and Dave Keech on trombone.

Eddie Piller (MD of Acid Jazz Records, Soul DJ, Host of The Modcast, Broadcaster & Writer) will be DJ’ing on the night.

This event is a fundraiser for Tonic Music for Mental Health, a non-profit organisation that supports people recovering from mental health difficulties by providing free music and art groups, and funding artists to produce their own music. Our patrons are Terry Hall (The Specials) and Kevin Cummins (Photographer).
