COCKWOMBLE

Cockwomble have been described as joyous, furious, bitingly sarcastic, probably treasonable, but with dripping melodies, sharp riffs, hook-laden and super catchy whilst full of black humour. Their eponymous debut album is now available on CD and digitally from 08/11/09.

Formed in 2018, Ali and Vicky asked Leah to join their band after seeing a picture of her bum on the internet.

They sound like all your favourite bands from when you were young that eventually broke up because they weren’t successful enough and all hated each other.

They chose their name after seeing David Cameron described as a Ham Faced Cockwomble.

For fans of: IDLES, Crass, McClusky, Undertones, Pixies, Ramones, Supergrass, Beastie Boys, Kunt and the Gang, The B-52’s, Eminem, Peter Paul & Mary and Husker Du. www.facebook.com/cockwombleband ………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………

KNOCK OFF

Formed in sept 2013, KNOCK OFF are a hard hitting punk trio, taking influences from the early 80’s U.K punk scene. 30 years on and the country’s still a mess. KNOCK OFF’s sound is fuelled by anger and disillusionment at a country going down the pan and life in general. A raw and powerful sound mixed with anger, energy and passion, with stick in your head choruses, KNOCK OFF will leave their mark. With 2 albums under their belts released through Step-1 Music and Randale Records and a Single launched through Human Punk Records KNOCK OFF are aiming to be heard. www.facebook.com/knockoffpunkband ………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………

NEWTOWN NEUROTICS

Formed in 1979 by Steve Drewett, they began like so many others to attempt to get their clumsy fingers around three chords and ape the Ramones who were their heroes. Sporting Joey Ramone length hair Steve would sneer at cries of “Bloody Hippie” from the audience but after a couple of numbers nobody cared they just went into pogo frenzy.

The early stuff from the band like “Hypocrite” and “When The Oil Runs out” singles were both great melodic punk songs on the type found in the early eighties but both were written prior to

the election of the Thatcher monster. The horror of this event changed what was the non-political writing style of Steve’s lyrics into the other extreme, and so in June 1982 “Kick Out The Tories” was released on CNT records. This was a double “A” side shared with Mindless Violence as it was quite obvious that the political nature of “Tories” would prevent it some what from being Radio One’s Tony Blackburn’s single of the week! www.facebook.com/newtownneurotics

MENACE

Menace were London’s first generation no-nonsense boot boys, pre-dating Sham 69 and Cockney Rejects who overtook them in terms of mass popularity.

They formed in 1976 at the Hope And Anchor in Islington when Webster met the other three members and were soon playing the Roxy. Their high-energy, unpretentious sets won them few admirers in the inkies e.g. the Press, but they swiftly built a strong following that brought together both punks and skinheads. They’re often cited as the first to unite this potentially. www.facebook.com/groups/menaceofficial
