The Abjects
Abjects are a London based trio playing quick, loud and bold edgy garage tunes with Noemi (guitar/vox– Spain), Teo (bass/vox– Serbia) and Alice (drums/vox– Italy) leading the charge.
In the first six months following the founding of their band back in 2013, they quickly rose up as a prominent garage punk band in the London and national UK live circuit supporting acclaimed acts like the Fat White Family, Mikal Cronin, and the Fresh and Onlys– culminating in their first national tour of the UK with PINS.
Shortly there after, they embarked on a tour of Japan where they shared bills with Japanese legend Guitar Wolf. Upon their return to UK, Abjects made their first TV appearance at New Year’s World Rock Festival – a series of gigs filmed in New York, Tokyo, Seoul, Shanghai, Los Angeles, Tai Pei, and London and screened during New Year’s Eve on Fuji TV in Japan. From there, they continued to tour regionally while supporting a range of great acts like The Gories, the Jon Spencer Blues Explosion, La Luz, Shannon and the Clams, the Coathangers, and more.
In early 2015, they paired a European tour across Germany, Czech Republic, Switzerland, France, and Spain with the release of their second EP, ’Gone’, on a limited edition 12” vinyl via Stolen Body Records. This caught the attention of New York City’s Greenway Records who teamed up with Abjects to release the “Double Bind” 7″ Single, which the band toured on in the US in March of 2016.
SXSW premiered the music video from the single in advance of the band’s multiple dates in Austin, and the additional dates surround the southby week went very well most notably punctuated by a prominent spot on the Burger Records Hangover Festival alongside Hinds, Bleached, the Spits, and more.
Following the success of their 2016 US tour, Abjects hit Japan a second time with dates in Tokyo, Kyoto, Yokosuka, Yokohama, Nagoya and Kobe promoting their special Japanese version of ‘Double Bind’ and supporting the solo project of Yoshiko from The 5.6.7.8’s.
The band continued to stay active in the London and UK music community in 2017 with dates across the country, including alongside Colleen Green, L.A. Witch, and also on the lineup of Bristol Psych Fest. They also entered the studio to knock out a number of tracks forming the basis for their debut LP entitled, “Never Give Up”, set for release through Yippee Ki Yay Records of Austin, Texas in October of 2018.
In addition Abjects are also preparing to embark on a several week album-support tour through the US this fall.
